SUNSORB^TM is an organic product that is neither toxic nor abrasive. It is manufactured from the waste of the sunflower industry and has a worldwide patent pending as a hydrocarbon absorbent.

SUNSORB^TM is a truly environmentally friendly product as it is completely natural, biodegradable and minimizes leaching resulting in no damage to the environment in either its manufacturing or disposal.

•   SUNSORB^TM is produced from the waste of the sunflower industry. Through our engineering process and due to its cellular make-up this product becomes oleolyphic (absorbs hydrocarbons) and hydrophobic (repels water).
  

•  When SUNSORB^TM is placed in contact with a hydrocarbon it immediately locks the hydrocarbons up inside it rather than allowing the hydrocarbon to stick to the outer surface of the product making it a far more effective absorbent.
  

•  Once SUNSORB^TM has been used it can be safely disposed of in a landfill site. It can also safely be incinerated producing only a small ash residue.

• SUNSORB^TM offers many advantages over traditional hydrocarbon absorbents.

• Using SUNSORB^TM which is already a waste product from nature, it takes nothing from the environment.

In March 2005 SUNSORB^TM launched its environmentally friendly, cost-effective and natural absorbents to aid in the clean-up and remediation of oil and other hydrocarbon spills.

The head office of SUNSORB^TM International Limited is based in Bermuda. SUNSORB^TM Absorbents (Pty) Ltd, an associate company has its headquarters situated in Cape Town, South Africa with a manufacturing plant located in Welkom (Free State), 250 kilometres south of Johannesburg.
